Medical Writer
This position will be responsible for delivery of high-quality medical communication materials (eg, slide decks, medical Q&A, congress summaries, etc.) within hematology/oncology. Critical competencies include strong medical writing and editorial skills, and effectively working with team members.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop medical communication materials that are on target per client needs and directions
- Conduct literature searches, create overviews of disease state, assess competitor landscape, etc.
- Critically appraise and apply knowledge gained from the medical/scientific literature
- Collaborate within cross-functional teams, including Scientific Communication leads, medical writers, graphic designers, and copyeditors
- Able to work on multiple projects and within tight timelines
- Maintain scientific and clinical accuracy of all deliverables with attention to detail - fact checking, annotation, and referencing
Minimum Requirements
- Degree in a scientific discipline. Advanced degree is preferred (ie, MS, PharmD, PhD)
- 1-3 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry and/or medical communication company as a medical writer
- Experience in hematology/oncology
- Strong medical writing and editorial skills
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects; ability to multitask, be proactive, and work both independently and collaboratively with team
- Understand the clinical development process, especially clinical study data and outcome measures in hematology/oncology and/or diabetes
- Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate complex medical/scientific information
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective professional communications, aiming to cultivate strong working relationships with both internal team members and clients/customers
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (eg, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required, as well as working knowledge of literature databases such as PubMed, etc
- Level of position and salary commensurate with experience

Scientific Communications Manager
This position will be responsible for the delivery of high-quality scientific publications (manuscripts, congress abstracts, presentations, and posters) and medical education materials in support of client’s products.
Job Responsibilities
- Key point of contact with client, authors and internal team
- Responsible for producing high-quality medical communications deliverables that meet client’s needs
- Facilitate and coordinate activities/tasks within internal team, and collaborate with medical writers, copy editors, medical director, graphics, etc. for development of high-quality deliverables
- Project management – development of timelines, tracking/reporting, and driving the process for on time delivery of drafts and final deliverable
- Contribute to the overall scientific communication strategy, demonstrating a strong knowledge of the therapeutic landscape
- Manage freelancers involved in the writing, editing, formatting and submission of articles to peer-reviewed scientific journals and scientific/medical conferences
- Conduct medical/scientific review of materials prior to distribution to client/authors
- Assist with medical writing/editing draft of medical communications materials, as needed
- Obtain necessary copyright permissions, NCCN permissions, etc per client requirements
- Utilize Veeva or other similar tool per client requirements for client reviews/signoff
- Assist in establishing internal operational standards, etc.
Minimum Requirements

- Experience in hematology/ oncology strongly preferred
